Key Features
Full XM trade history import
Import your complete XM trade history through MT4 or MT5 CSV export. Every trade is captured — entry price, exit price, lot size, timestamps, commissions, swap, and P&L.
Micro lot analytics
XM's Micro accounts start at 0.01 lots (1,000 units). PipJournal handles micro lot sizing accurately, calculating correct pip values and P&L regardless of position size.
Session-level performance breakdown
Every imported trade is tagged with its forex session — Asian, London, or New York. See exactly which market hours drive your results and which ones cost you money.
Bonus and promotion awareness
XM offers deposit bonuses and loyalty programs. PipJournal tracks your actual trade performance separately from bonus effects so you see your true trading edge.
AI behavioral pattern detection
PipJournal's AI co-pilot analyzes your XM trading patterns — overtrading, revenge trading, risk spikes, and session bias — using your actual trade data as evidence.

How to Import Your XM Trades into PipJournal
XM is one of the world’s largest forex brokers by client count, serving over 10 million traders across 190 countries. Known for low minimum deposits, micro lot trading, generous bonuses, and strong educational resources, XM is particularly popular among newer traders and in emerging markets across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
PipJournal integrates with XM through CSV import from MT4 or MT5 — the platforms XM uses for trade execution. Export your trade history, upload it, and PipJournal delivers pip-based analytics, session-level breakdowns, and AI-powered behavioral insights.
No plugins. No API keys. No broker-side setup required. If you can export your XM trade history, PipJournal can analyze it.
Step-by-Step Setup Guide
Step 1: Open your XM platform history
Launch MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5 on your XM account.
For MT4: Go to the Terminal panel (press Ctrl+T if hidden). Click the Account History tab. Right-click and select All History to load your complete trade record. You can also select Custom Period to import a specific date range.
For MT5: Open the Toolbox panel. Click the History tab. Right-click and select All History.
Step 2: Export your trade history
MT4: Right-click in Account History and select Save as Detailed Report. Save to your computer.
MT5: Right-click in History and select Export Deals. Choose CSV format.
The Detailed Report includes all fields PipJournal needs: ticket number, timestamps, pair, lot size, prices, commission, swap, and profit.
Step 3: Upload to PipJournal
Log in to PipJournal and navigate to Import > Upload CSV. Drag your XM export file into the upload area or click to browse. PipJournal auto-detects the MT4/MT5 format and displays a preview.
Step 4: Review the column mapping
PipJournal maps XM’s columns automatically. Verify that pairs, lot sizes, entry/exit prices, timestamps, and P&L are mapped correctly. If your XM export uses any non-standard column names, you can manually adjust the mapping.
Step 5: Import and start analyzing
Click Import to process your trades. PipJournal calculates pip-based P&L for every trade, assigns session tags (Asian, London, New York), and populates your performance dashboard. The AI co-pilot begins pattern detection immediately.
What Data Gets Imported
PipJournal extracts the following from your XM export:
- Ticket number — used for duplicate detection
- Currency pair — all forex pairs including exotics
- Trade direction — buy or sell
- Lot size — standard, mini, and micro lots
- Entry price and exit price — for pip calculation
- Open time and close time — with timezone normalization
- Commission — per-trade commissions (where applicable)
- Swap — overnight financing charges
- Profit — in account currency
Derived metrics from PipJournal:
- P&L in pips — normalized across all pair types
- Pip value — calculated for your exact lot size
- Session tag — Asian, London, or New York
- Trade duration — time between open and close
- Net P&L — after commissions and swap
Features for XM Traders
Micro lot precision
XM is one of the few brokers that lets traders start with 0.01 lots (1,000 units) on Micro accounts. This makes it popular with traders who are building their skills or managing risk conservatively. PipJournal handles micro lots with full precision — your 0.01 lot EURUSD trade gets the same accurate pip-based analytics as a 10.0 lot position. No approximation, no rounding errors.
Multi-account type comparison
Many XM traders graduate from Micro to Standard to XM Ultra Low accounts as their capital and skills grow. If you have traded on multiple XM account types, import each separately. PipJournal lets you compare your performance across account types to see if your trading genuinely improved — or if you just increased size.
Emerging market trader support
XM serves traders in 190 countries, including major forex trading markets in Nigeria, South Africa, the Philippines, Indonesia, and the Middle East. PipJournal supports all XM account currencies and normalizes P&L to both pips (universal) and account currency (local). At $179 lifetime, PipJournal is accessible to traders in regions where monthly subscriptions are prohibitive.
Swap cost visibility
XM charges overnight swap fees that vary by pair and direction. For traders holding positions across sessions — especially on Wednesday nights (triple swap) — these costs add up. PipJournal imports swap data from your MT4/MT5 export and tracks it as a separate cost. You can see exactly how much swap is costing you per pair, per direction, and over time.
XM-Specific Tips
Export using “All History” for your first import. Your initial PipJournal import should include your complete XM trade history. This gives the AI co-pilot the largest dataset for pattern detection. Subsequent imports only need to cover new trades since your last export.
Track your progression across account types. If you started on XM’s Micro account and moved to Standard, import both histories. PipJournal’s analytics reveal whether your trading edge is real — measured in pips, not dollars — regardless of position size.
Watch your swap costs on exotic pairs. XM offers a wide range of exotic pairs with higher swap costs. If you hold exotic pair positions overnight, PipJournal shows you the cumulative impact of swap on your bottom line. You might find that your edge on certain pairs is smaller than you think once swap is factored in.
Use session tagging to find your optimal hours. XM provides 24/5 trading, but your performance almost certainly varies by session. PipJournal’s session breakdowns reveal where your profits actually come from. If London session produces 80% of your gains, question whether trading during Asian or late New York session adds value.
Combine your journal with free calculators. Before placing trades on XM, use PipJournal’s pip calculator to verify pip values and the position size calculator to determine the right lot size for your risk parameters. After the trade closes, your journal automatically tracks actual vs planned performance.
XM gives you access to the forex market. PipJournal gives you the insight to trade it better. Import your XM history in under a minute, get session-level analytics, and let the AI co-pilot detect the behavioral patterns hiding in your data. $179 one-time — the last trading tool you will ever buy. Start journaling your XM trades today.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does PipJournal work with all XM account types?
Yes. XM offers Micro, Standard, XM Ultra Low, and Shares accounts. All forex trading accounts use MT4 or MT5, and the export format is the same regardless of account type. PipJournal handles micro lots, mini lots, and standard lots accurately.
Can I import trades from my XM Micro account?
Absolutely. XM Micro accounts allow trading as small as 0.01 lots (1,000 units). PipJournal correctly calculates pip values and P&L for micro lot positions. Your analytics will be just as accurate as a Standard account.
Does PipJournal track XM deposit bonuses?
PipJournal imports trade data — not account balance or bonus data. Your analytics reflect actual trade performance (pips won/lost, win rate, etc.) independent of any bonus balance. This gives you a clearer picture of your trading edge.
How do I export my XM MT4 trade history?
In XM's MT4 platform: Terminal > Account History tab > right-click > All History > right-click again > Save as Detailed Report. Save the file and upload it to PipJournal. The process takes about 30 seconds.
Will duplicate trades be imported?
No. PipJournal uses ticket numbers and timestamps for duplicate detection. Overlapping exports are handled automatically — only new trades are imported.
I trade multiple instruments on XM. What gets imported?
PipJournal is built for forex. All forex pairs from your XM account — majors, minors, crosses, and exotics — are fully supported with correct pip calculations. XAU/USD (gold) is also supported. Non-forex instruments may import but lack pip-based optimization.
